Donation Box
Close family and friends have donated $350 to Goldie's surgery so far. I am amazed by and thankful for their generosity. Readers of the blog have asked how they can help, so I found the easiest way to send money (rather than risk sending a check or cash in the mail).
I set up an Amazon.com "honor's system" account, which allows me to collect donations for his surgery in an easy manner. The button to donate is on the right hand side of the screen. I would appreciate any financial assistance for his large medical bills--which I put on my Mastercard =)
I am going to scan a copy of the receipt tomorrow and post it on the website (so people can see proof of payment). Since I can only help one dog at a time, the donation box will only be active when I've rescued a dog and need assistance to fund its care. Once I reach the donation goal for that dog, the box will become inactive and any excess money will be refunded.
The goal for donations for Goldie is now $200. He is going to be at Overland Vet Clinic until Saturday, recovering from his surgery. I visited him yesterday and he looked so cute with the plastic cone around his head, which the vet calls an "elizabethan collar". He has minimal bruising and he seems as perky as ever. I miss him very much, but I'm glad he's safe in the clinic and not wrestling around the condo with my dog.
