Post-Surgical Update
Just when it all seemed perfect, we woke up to a semi-emergency this morning. Goldie managed to undo every stitch and suture on his body. He didn't bleed too much, but it was still gross. He had his Elizabethan collar aka plastic cone on his head the whole night. I'm guessing that Goldie stood up on the baby gate in the kitchen and stretched his body until the stitches undid themselves. Sounds painful, but we didn't hear him whimper all night!
The doctor re-sutured and stapled the wound--but my favorite part is that she sedated him! Now he is "in the clouds" and I don't have to worry as much about him bouncing around. He looks like he had one too many martinis, which I myself could use at this point.
The vet bill increased by $237 this time because of the tranquilizers and some other expenses that were left over from his surgery. I'm surprised my MasterCard is still being accepted.
Below is a picture of Goldie with Chad after his 2nd vet trip.
For anyone who is interested, here is a link to his healing wound. Be warned: there is some blood and yucky stuff in the picture.

Thanks again everyone for caring about this little guy. I can't wait to find him a great home. Please donate if you can to help pay the vet bills. The link to my Amazon.com Honor Account is on the right hand side of the screen.
