Rainy Days
It's been over 2 months now since I bailed Goldie from the South LA shelter. Rainy days remind me of the day I took him home in a torrential downpour, not knowing when I'd be able to find him a permanent home and unsure how I would afford his future veterinary care. Thankfully, I've had the help of a small army of friends and readers of this blog.
Goldie is currently staying at Bark Avenue in Downtown LA. They are an incredible facility that offers daycare and boarding for pets; however, they have an entire part of their business that provides dog rescuers with a safe haven to board their dogs while they await adoption.
I feel confident that Goldie is in good hands while he stays there and this weekend (weather permitting) I am taking him to adoptions in Huntington Beach. Last weekend, I took him to a home that I thought would be perfect for him, but the owners dog "Chance" did not like Goldie and actually bit his face and drew some blood. Poor Goldie just wanted a buddy to play with, but luckily the encounter did not break his spirit. I took him home that night to play with my dog Sunny in order to cheer him up.
Thanks again for your support,
Jon
