Way Over Yonder

“Way over yonder Trinity_3
is a place that I know
Where I can find shelter
from hunger and cold.
And the sweet tasting good life
is so easily found
Way over yonder
that's where I'm bound.

I know when I get there,
the first thing I'll see
Is the sun shining golden,
shining right down on me.
Then trouble's gonna lose me
worry leave me behind
And I'll stand up proudly
in true peace of mind.

Way over yonder
is a place I have seen,
In a garden of wisdom
from some long ago dream.

Maybe tomorrow
I'll find my way
To the land where the honey runs
in rivers each day
And the sweet tasting good life
is so easily found
Way over yonder…that's where I'm bound
Way over yonder…that's where I'm bound.”

Please continue reading for some great news!

Talula has found a home.

This weekend Talula met a lady named Dee.
We were in Pomona for a pet convention and Dee came by our adoption booth.
She heard Talula yodeling and then started to translate for Talula.
"I want out, I want out."

We talked for a few minutes and she filled me in on her experience with the AmStaff breed.  She has 8 or 9 of them currently and they live with her and her husband about an hour and a half outside of Orange County.  She has over 2 decades of experience as an ethical breeder of AmStaffs and is working to ban Breed Specific Legislation (BSL).

Dee also had a booth at the convention for her llamas!  Yes, she owns llamas (and cats).

On Sunday, Talula went home with Dee and her husband after they spent the night discussing her situation.  I can't even convey how relieved I feel.  I'm going to miss Talula so much, but it pained to me to have her living in a crate at my house.  Talula is a very special dog.  She's definitely not a dog that does well indoors.  I've always thought that she belongs on a huge plot of land with space to play.  I'm eternally grateful to Dee and her husband for taking Talula to their home and giving her a chance; they are doing both Talula and me a huge favor.

I got a call this morning from Dee saying that Talula met the llamas and cats and was totally cool with them.  I'm going to try and visit her in the next few weeks at her new home.

I saved Talula the Tooth Fairy on her last day at South LA shelter.  The journey has been rough but I never expected it would be easy to place a "senior" pit bull.  Thank you to everyone who supported me and Talula during our few months together.  I especially thank Talula for giving me a purpose and showering me in her unconditional love.    _Jon_

I'm so proud of you! I Can't wait to see you.

Jon: Congratulations to both you and Talula. I'm so glad to hear she has a new, terrific home. You have done something very special and I admire all the work you put into saving dogs that most consider un-salvagable. I have learned so much about the breed from you and have a new appreciation for how sweet they can be. Best, Vivian

Way to go! Congrats to both you and Talula! You do amazing work!!

Great job again, Jon. All yodlers need wide open spaces.

Jon, the Tallulah story made ma cry. You are doing the best job! Love, Katie, Mark, Bunny and the Little Monkey / Goldie
