Sugar Bean
My latest rescue is from the Carson Shelter. Her name is Sugar Bean. When she is being sassy, I call her Miss Bean. When she's not being very sweet, I call her Splenda. She is a purebred black pug that was labeled as a stray by the shelter. She sat in the shelter for seven days, but no owner claimed her--so I adopted her for $37. Currently, they are selling purebred black pugs in my local pet store for $2000.
She just recovered from a mild case of kennel cough and is already wanted by two families that live in my neighborhood. I'm guessing she'll be at her forever home within the next two weeks. It is very strange for me to have a rescue dog that people actually fight over!
I know she looks sad in this picture, but wait till you see her "after" picture...

Oh my God, Jon!! That "after" photo is to die for. What a cutie. Don't let me see her face to face or I won't let her go. How are you? Love to Sunny and Sugar Bean.
Love,
Julia

How wonderful! It was great to see that smiley, colorful "after" photo after the sad-face picture. Wonderful happiness!

What a wonderful guy you are! I am so proud to see someone out there as crazy about animals as I am. I just recently rescued a St. Bernard that I have fallen in love with. Such a great dog (you can see pictures of him at my site.)

Jon,
Great job with Sugar Bean! She is absolutely adorable and I'm sure she understands and appreciates all that you've done for her! I'll keep my fingers crossed that her trial period works out.
