My "Dear" Readers
For all my readers, I have some disturbing interesting statistics about what kind of visitors this blog attracts.
There is a tool in the administration panel for this blog that allows me to see which websites direct visitors to my blog. If the visitors come from a search engine like Google, I can see the actual search terms they used to find my blog. My blog has such a vast array of content that despite being about dog rescue,I get many visitors that are looking to get rid of their dogs.
Here are recent search 'strings' that lead to my blog:
"giving away a dog"
"giving away a family dog"
"euthanize a dog by shooting"
"giving away your dog"
"how to save dogs"
"rescue dogs"
"jessica biel puppy"
"old dog vertigo"
There is one nice thing in store for those who find my blog while trying to give away their dog...they often land on this page of my blog, which happens to be one of my all-time favorite (and most commented-on) posts.
peace & love,
jon

It's a shame that in our throw away society that it is also becoming more common for people to treat their dogs as something they can get "rid-of".
As a pet sitter I also get calls from people that want to get rid of their pets. I usually direct them to local no-kill shelters but I know they are probably already full. It is a shame that dogs are considered disposable by many when so many are willing to treat them as part of the family. Perhaps there needs to be more stringent control on who is able to buy or adopt a dog?
Thanks for doing a great job
Danielle

Some situations change in a persons life where they can longer take care of their spoiled, beloved bulldogs. Unless you've had to go through the emotional dealings of having to accept you have no choice but to find your baby a new LOVING home.....but yes many others are only interested in harm & no good, but don't judge everyone accordingly.....

Jon, as a fellow webmaster I too find the stats interesting and suprising at times. It's like, how did they end up here for "that" search term? Anyway thanks for what you do here, as a fellow dog lover (I have 4) I really appreciate it... Nick
